第一种:避免直接使用机器翻译
很多同学想到一个句子之后,因为不会写,所以直接选择使用机器翻译(比如百度翻译,有道翻译,谷歌翻译等)的句子,这样的句子只能帮助我们理解内容,但是不适合作为SCI论文的句子。比如:
To achieve higher catalytic efficiency, the higher the temperature, the better.
中文翻译是:为了取得更高的催化效率,温度越高越好。
意思虽然很明确,也没有语法问题。但是放在SCI论文里面就非常奇怪。因此我们需要修改如下:
Higher temperature leads to better catalytic efficiency.
这样的句子不但更加简介,而且更容易读懂。
或者:
Better catalytic efficiency can be achieved at higher catalytic efficiency.
被动结构也可以表达这样的意思,可以根据自己的需要选择合适的句式。
第二种:根据强调重点不同,选择不同的句式
比如下面的句子:
The two different forms of light and electricity can be effectively separated, offering the PEC detection method the advantages of both electrochemical and optical methods, including simple operation, fast response, low background signal, inexpensive instrument, and high detection sensitivity. (ACS Sens. 2020, 5, 1092−1101)
中文翻译是:两种不同形式的光和电可以有效分离,使PEC检测方法兼具电化学和光学方法的优点,包括操作简单、响应速度快、背景信号低、仪器便宜、检测灵敏度高。
中文看似没有问题,但是这样的句子直接套在SCI论文写作中就不是很好。而且,如果我们想强调的内容不同,写作的方法也不同。
这里我们以以下三种强调的内容为出发点,可以尝试练习以下修改:
1. 强调有效分离光和电的优势
The effectively separated forms of light and electricity of PEC detection provide the advantages of both electrochemical and optical methods, including simple operation, fast response, low background signal, inexpensive instrument, and high detection sensitivity.
2. 强调操作简单等优点
The advantages of the PEC detection method are the simple operation, fast response, low background signal, inexpensive instrument, and high detection sensitivity originating from its effectively separated forms of light and electricity.
3. 强调兼具电化学和光学方法的优点
The advantages of both electrochemical and optical methods are combined in PEC detection due to effectively separated forms of light and electricity, leading to simple...
